Cougar Lacrosse has hit a new milestone! The club set a goal of at least 20 guys on the varsity squad and we hit that with the registrations this weekend.
By the end of the season in 2008, the High School Boys program of Cougar Lacrosse saw the club at 12 players, barely enough to form a team. In 2009, that program started the year with 9, but ended with 15. This year, the club will start out with 20 guys! According to Coach Davis, it is great to see the program growing. "Each year so far we have seen a growth in the number of High School Boys interested in playing. That is a great thing. But also, each year we see a growth in High School Girls Registrations, and middle school and grade school inquiries. We would love to get a girls program going at the high school, as well as extend downward into the middle school and grade schools."
According to Coach Davis, Cougar Lacrosse is currently a little short on girls to field a team, but he hopes that will grow and they will get the players they need to make it happen.
